Cecile was born in 1960 in Shanghai. In 1979, she was admitted to the Shanghai School of Arts and Crafts 上海工艺美校. In 1981, she earned a full scholarship for graphic design at the Cooper Union of Science & Art in New York City. Through her professional career in the U.S., she worked for top design and advertising firms in New York City and Philadelphia. Her clients included the New York Stock Exchange, Pfizer, Bell Lab, and the University of Pennsylvania. Her design works were awarded and featured in major design publications, such as Graphic Design USA, Annual Reports 100, Annual Report Trend, and Print Regional Annual. Her work on annual reports has also been collected by the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg in Hamburg, Germany. In 2002, while serving as Executive Art Director at Rector Communications in Philadelphia, she relocated to Europe with her family and lived there for the next 12 years in Milan, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. During that period, Cecile started her work in jewelry design and oil painting. She studied at the Instituto Europeo di Design in Milano, Italy and the Freie Akademie der Bildenden Kuenste in Essen, Germany. In 2013, she was re-expatriated to Shanghai. Since then, she has continued her jewelry design and oil painting.

胡漪华1960年出生于上海。1979年，她考取上海工艺美校，同年赴美留学。1981年，她获得纽约久负盛名的私立大学 -- 库伯高等科学艺术联盟学院授予的全额奖学金，学习平面设计。

毕业后，她就职于纽约和费城的多家著名广告和设计公司，客户涵盖了纽约证券交易所，辉瑞制药，贝尔实验室以及宾夕法尼亚大学等。她的设计作品广受赞誉，多次发表于包括《Graphic Design USA》，《Annual Reports 100》，《Annual Report Trend》和《Print Regional Annual》在内的著名平面设计杂志。她设计的年报作品还被德国汉堡的艺术和工艺品博物馆收藏。

2002年，她时任费城Rector广告传讯公司的执行艺术总监。因家人工作调动，随迁并常驻欧洲。之后的12年间，她曾工作和生活于意大利米兰，德国法兰克福和杜塞尔多夫等城市。其间，胡漪华开始涉足饰品设计和油画，并就读于意大利米兰的欧洲设计学院和德国埃森的自由美术学院。

2013年，胡漪华重返上海，并继续她的饰品设计和油画事业。
